Freedom From Smoking® Program
This program is for individuals who are ready to quit smoking now. Since most people understand that smoking is harmful to their health, the program concentrates almost exclusively on how to quit, not why.
Chronic Disease Self-Management Program (CDSMP)-My Life, My Health
It is a participant education program developed by the Patient Education Department at Stanford University. The workshop aims to teach participants how to manage their chronic conditions and enhance their quality of life.
Diabetes Prevention Program for Every Stage
Our CDC-recognized Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP), led by qualified educators, offers the support you need on your wellness journey. Gain practical skills to improve your lifestyle, make healthier choices, and boost physical activity in a supportive and interactive environment. This program is designed for individuals at high risk of developing type 2 diabetes, focusing on sustainable lifestyle changes to either prevent or delay the onset of the disease. Participants explore weight loss, dietary improvements, and maintaining an active lifestyle through group sessions, coaching, and workshops.
Tai Chi - Moving for Better Balance
It is an evidence-based fall prevention program for community-dwelling older adults. Movements promote balance, flexibility, strength, and range of motion. The HHS Administration rates this program as a top-tier option among evidence-based prevention programs.
Healthy Eating
The National Council on Aging (NCOA) sponsors the Model Programs Project, which includes a focus on healthy eating. NCOA provides national leadership and oversight for the Healthy Eating Program.
Initially, the Lahey Clinic oversaw the Healthy Eating Program until HSL took over in 2008. In 2017, ESMV assumed ownership of the program.
Mental Health First Aid
Mental Health First Aid is an 8-hour course designed to teach participants how to identify, understand, and effectively respond to the signs of mental illnesses and substance use disorders.
1. The SHINE Program (Serving the Health Information Needs of Everyone) provides free health insurance information and counseling to all Massachusetts residents with Medicare and their caregivers.
